The Reach Out Support Line is a volunteer-based, confidential, non-judgmental and free support line run by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Yukon Division. The Reach Out Support Line operates with volunteers trained to listen and provide support that assists callers to find options and make a plan to move forward, no matter how big or small the issue.
What Happens When You Call the Reach Out Support Line (ROSL)?
- When you call the Reach Out Support Line (ROSL) a trained volunteer uses active listening skills to support you. Volunteers on the ROSL listen to your concerns without judgment. Volunteers could ask clarifying questions, could suggest options, offer to assist you in discovering possible next steps and bring call to a close with helping you define a possible plan to manage your concerns that may include referrals to local resources.
Here to Help
- Call the ROSL for support. Reasons that people call the line may vary from small to big issues. ROSL is here for people experiencing daily or chronic mental health challenges such as stress, struggling to cope, needing some help for self or a friend, having suicidal thoughts or experiencing violence. The line is for anyone.
Is it confidential?
- All calls are confidential. In cases where there is an intent to harm self, someone else or a child the law requires us to report to appropriate agencies that can intervene.
